Career: Hospital Administrator

As a hospital administrator, your job is to provide management for one or more health care facilities. In this role, you may oversee medical programs, determine which services your facilities should offer, support the career needs of your employees, and make the final hiring or promotion decision for many of the jobs at the hospital. Hospital administrators usually serve as a single point of contact for all issues and provide direct oversight of every department. As part of this job, you may also work with personnel like the medical director and chief nursing officer to coordinate and ensure the hospital offers the full spectrum of services that patients need. Hospital administrators are often on call to help resolve emergencies.
