What is a fundraiser?

A fundraiser is in charge of raising money for an organization. In this role, your duties involve organizing events, creating campaigns, and soliciting donations. Most fundraisers work for a nonprofit organization, charity, or political candidate. This career requires experience in fundraising and development and a proven ability to build relationships with donors. Additional qualifications include excellent communication, organizational, and management skills. In some roles, you must also be familiar with database software. Many employers prefer fundraisers with at least a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or nonprofit management.
