What is a food expeditor?

A food expeditor serves as a primary line of communication between the wait staff and the chefs. They typically work in large, busy establishments to help the flow of food move more efficiently. Food expeditors check that the chefs process orders promptly, confirm that the orders are made correctly, and may also add garnishes or condiments to plates before they are sent to the tables. In some instances, food expeditors may also help servers deliver the food to the table.
