What is a floor manager?

Floor managers monitor customer activity and oversee employee interactions with clients in retail stores, restaurants, hotels, and other establishments that handle customer traffic into its facility. The typical job duties for retail floor managers include scheduling employees, managing inventory levels on the sales floor, and overseeing the creation of sales displays. Floor managers in the hospitality industry supervise staff as they interact with guests and may step in for specific requests or to resolve complaints.
