A finance clerk reports to the director of finance, handles all aspects of accounts payable and receivable daily, and records all money coming in and out of the office. In this job, you handle a variety of financial record-keeping duties such as bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, processing paychecks, and financial reporting for management. Additional responsibilities include tracking employee vacation and sick time, preparing and maintaining the budget, preparing invoices, forms, and preparing other correspondence as needed. You also process daily banking, purchase order books, and any additional charge. Other duties include administrative tasks such as investigating and resolving questions from creditors and debtors related to billing and invoicing, maintaining customer and vendor financial information, and sorting and distributing mail.
