What is a community relations officer?

A community relations officer, or CRO, is responsible for the community relations programs of a company or organization. Their job duties include ensuring that the outreach missions are meeting their objectives and staying within budget. A community relations officer uses media events, public events, and group activities to portray a positive image on behalf of their organization. Qualifications for a CRO may include advanced training in community psychology and experience designing programs that meet the goals of outreach programs.
