What is a community educator?

A community educator provides outreach and encourages people to pursue education outside of traditional school confines. They may focus their efforts on children, adults, or more specific communities, but their goal is to encourage community development through learning. Qualifications for a career as a community educator include a bachelor’s degree in education or childhood development. Experience in community outreach is important for this job, as are verbal and written communication skills.
