How to become a community educator?

The primary qualifications for a community educator include postsecondary education. To work as a health educator, you need at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Some states also require certification, or a Certified Health Education Specialist credential. You must pass an exam and complete continuing education to maintain this certification. Some community educator positions offer on-the-job training to equip you with the necessary skills to take on your responsibilities in a specific area. Previous experience volunteering or working with certain disabilities or in another healthcare role can also increase your employment opportunities.
