What is a communications designer?

Communications designers create graphic designs and other visual materials for a company to be released to the public. As a communication designer, you consult with other members of the art, marketing, and sales department to determine the purpose and message of a marketing or public relations campaign. You discuss the color schemes, content, and other design factors, and then design visually compelling material for print and web sources. Depending on the medium, you may work closely with animators or other visual artists to create numerous ideas for the marketing department to use.
