What is a cancer registrar?

A cancer registrar works toward creating a complete medical picture of every person in the U.S. that has been diagnosed with cancer. They are information specialists responsible for finding and inputting data about a patient’s diagnosis, exam and treatment history and current health status per organizational policy. The information they input goes into a web registry so that it can be accessed by other health care professionals. They must have strong data entry, communication, and interpersonal skills to complete their duties and responsibilities.
