Human physiology is a specific field of physiology, which is itself part of the large field of biological science. It is concerned chiefly with research to develop further understanding of human health, adaptation, anatomy, and mechanics related to biomechanical systems in the human body. Studying human physiology is an essential requirement for many different fields and degrees, such as pre-med, biology, nursing, and biomechanical engineering. Physiology is closely related to another sub-discipline, anatomy. While anatomy studies the framework of the body, physiology studies its mechanics and biochemical function. Physiology incorporates many aspects of human anatomy, such as organ systems, the nervous system, and body chemistry.
