What is a graduate assistant softball coach?

Graduate assistant softball coaches are graduate students who provide high-level training for athletes playing collegiate softball. In this role, you run drills to improve batting, catching, and running techniques. You also motivate students to stay focused when they are on the field, address medical issues, develop game strategy, and educate the team on league rules and regulations. Depending on the school you work for, you may also be responsible for recruiting new athletes, caring for equipment, and preparing transportation for away games. This position may be paid hourly, or the graduate student may receive compensation through tuition reduction and living expenses.
