What is forestry management?

Career: Forestry

Forestry management involves overseeing projects and programs that conserve and sustain woodlands and forest habitats. As a forest manager, you need to assess forest health and environment and then take steps to improve or maintain the forest. You may suggest things like planting, controlled burns, logging permissions, habitat revitalization, and similar efforts. You may also approve or plan recreational use within forests and organize funding for forestry projects. You may work with biologists, botanists, environmental scientists, ecologists, and other experts to come up with the best management strategies.
