Fashion merchandising is a discipline in which you coordinate many different aspects of the industry, including retail and design. Fashion merchandising requires you to remain aware of trends in fashion and be able to forecast new trends in shoes, clothes, accessories, and other pieces of fashion. Beyond analyzing trends, fashion merchandising is also about knowing how to efficiently distribute clothes and merchandise to retail outlets, negotiate prices with garment makers, and monitor inventory at your vendor partners and designer studios.
