What does an MNA do?

Your responsibilities as a medication nursing assistant (MNA) are to administer routine medication and assist with patient care. Your duties require you to have direct patient contact, and you monitor for any changes in patient behavior or general health. You verify the medication and dosage before giving it to the patient, but you are not allowed to change the drug. You must follow all orders accurately, including the time of day you give the medication. You also confirm that the patient has actually taken the pill and report any unusual side effects. Additional tasks including hygiene care, assisting with meals, and other nurse related activities when you are not preparing or dispensing medication.
