An interventional radiology technologist works alongside a physician and nurses specializing in interventional radiology. In this career, your primary responsibilities are to set up and operate the equipment needed for interventional radiological procedures. You also take images and position patients correctly so that these pictures work for the diagnostic aspect of this medical specialty. Educational qualifications include certification, which you must renew every two years, and completion of an approved degree program in interventional radiology. Most interventional radiologic technologists work in a hospital or clinic setting.
