What does a virtual nurse do?

As a virtual nurse, your responsibilities are to provide telehealth services to patients. You use the internet to monitor vital signs, interact with a virtual command center to connect with other doctors and health care professionals, advise patients when to seek medical care, and otherwise provide direct and indirect support as needed. Your duties may also include handling case management, processing insurance claims, performing telephone triage, operating a call center, or even working as a freelance nurse writer. On occasion, virtual nurses work in quarantine situations to provide care when it is too risky to interact with patients. Most virtual nurse positions require high-speed internet, a microphone, and a high-quality video camera to enable two-way video conferencing.
