As a termite inspector, you inspect homes or businesses for evidence of termites and other pests in wood or other materials. If you locate proof of termites, you apply a chemical treatment in various areas to remove them. Other duties include using pesticides safely and abiding by all local and federal regulations governing the use of such substances. You always work in the field, and your responsibilities include communicating directly with the homeowner or building owner. While some inspectors only focus on termites, most are pest control specialists who can remove other unwanted bugs or animals from a home or place of business.
