What does a requirements engineer do?

As a requirements engineer, you determine needs in software product design. Your responsibilities are to identify functional requirements using quantifiable data. You analyze that data and translate it into the end user product. You work alongside project management to ensure a company’s systems meet audience or consumer needs. Other duties include communicating with system users to determine requirements, documenting all aspects of the development process, and testing system features for usability. You work with a team of software engineers to complete these tasks.
