What does a recreation worker do?

As a recreation worker, you are responsible for planning and running a recreation program, including things like amateur sports leagues and outdoor activities. Regardless of your place of employment, you are in charge of maintaining equipment, educating participants, ensuring safety rules are followed, and providing information about local wildlife and history. As a recreation worker, you may be tasked with overseeing a number of participants and engaging them with an activity. This may be a sport or some sort of educational fun. When working with adults, you may help with improving fitness or helping with recovery after an injury. At resorts, they may provide guided tours of the area.
