What does a part time medical assistant do?

Part-time medical assistants perform the same job duties as a full-time medical assistant; the primary difference is that part-time employees work thirty hours or less a week. Part-time medical assistants may handle administrative or clinical duties. As a part-time medical assistant, you may greet patients when they first arrive, ensure patient forms are filled out correctly, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments. In the exam rooms, part-time medical assistants may take vital signs, describe procedures, change wound dressings, administer medication or vaccinations, submit prescriptions, document results from patient sample testing, and prepare the beds for the next patient.
