What does a PC game tester do?

As a PC game tester, you play alpha and beta builds of PC games in order to identify bugs, glitches, balance issues, or other game-breaking issues. While frequently imagined as a leisurely job in which one is paid to play games, video games testing can be tiring and monotonous; playing the same level with every iteration of options and choices while hunting for crashes and bugs is less enjoyable than the end-player experience you are working to create. As part of your responsibilities, you must carefully document your findings to game developers, along with any details necessary to reproduce the issue. Games testing is not usually considered a long-term career, but rather a springboard into further work within the computer games industry.
