How to become a PC game tester?

Becoming a PC games tester does not strictly require formal qualifications or education, but as the position is often understood to be a stepping-stone into further work within the industry, you should have at least a bachelor’s degree in video game design, computer science, or a field related to the design and production of video games. As this position is for PC games, rather than, say, console games, you must be familiar with the PC gaming environment, common games distribution platforms, and issues with hardware, drivers, and game engines. You must have excellent problem-solving and communications skills, and a superb attention to detail in order to reliably reproduce any bugs you discover.
