What does a hyperbaric technologist do?

As a hyperbaric technologist, your primary responsibilities are to monitor a diver's condition and maintain proper atmospheric pressure during a dive. A hyperbaric technologist can also work in a hospital and assist with a hyperbaric chamber, which is a steel cylinder that holds a person during oxygen therapy. The duties of this job require certification and training as a nurse or medical technician, and you must also meet the qualifications needed to become a diver. You also use your skills to maintain the hyperbaric chamber equipment and treat patients who did not properly adjust to pressure when diving.
