What does a freelance technical writer do?

Freelance technical writers take complex information about a product, service, or another industry topic and create communications that are clear and easy to understand. In this role, you may write descriptions for owner's manuals, explain instructional materials, write an article on technological innovations, or help simplify complex legal issues or scientific topics. You must be sure to use industry vocabulary, utilize an acceptable writing style, and ensure that your work meets relevant governmental regulations and industry standards. Freelance technical writers may be contracted long-term by a company for a particular project, or they may work with many different clients on a short-term basis.
