What does a diving coach do?

A diving coach manages a diving team. They instruct athletes at a club or school, determine the requirements for team eligibility, and recruit new athletes. Other responsibilities involve keeping a budget, ordering and repairing equipment, scheduling practice time, organizing competitions, and fundraising. When working on larger teams, they also manage assistant coaches. A diving coach demonstrates various diving and swimming techniques, prepares athletes for competition, arranges transportation, and organizes accommodations for overnight trips. Some people in this career have the opportunity to train Olympians.
