A design consultant who works in interior design lends expertise to clients wishing to decorate a home. Their duties are to evaluate needs, suggest furniture and room accents, and assist in designing a space, often using interior design software. Other responsibilities include creating prototypes or drawings of a space and improving upon existing designs. Some jobs may require building a product display or showroom to assist in the marketing and sales process. Design consultant jobs are also available in graphic and fashion design.
