What does a creative writing teacher do?

As a creative writing teacher, your job is to create lessons to teach students how to write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. As part of this, you may guide them through the creative process, help them understand the techniques of expressive writing, and provide personalized evaluation and feedback. Creative writing teachers usually work for schools or universities, but a few act as tutors to give personalized support to students who need extra help in this area. In this role, you may create and distribute writing prompts, help students revise their writing, provide positive and encouraging feedback, and introduce new writing concepts. Many aspects of this job, such as the complexity of the topics, depend on the age of the students with which you work.
