Description
Frayser Community Schools is a neighborhood charter passionately serving the Frayser neighborhood through Westside Middle School. Our mission is to elevate students for success by raising academic rigor, building trauma informed schools, and facilitating genuine parent engagement.
Teachers are entrusted with advancing the mission and vision of Frayser Community Schools. Reporting to the Principal, all teachers are responsible for the development and execution of a standards-aligned curriculum, continuous improvement of instructional practices, and collaboration with other staff to meet the needs of the school.
Job Responsibilities:
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request
• Establish a standard of classroom behavior and maintain classroom management in and outside of the school
• Confer with parents, administrators, specialist, and appropriate resource staff to develop educational programs for students
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district regulations
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, assessments, activities, materials, and technology that reflect accommodations for the individual needs of students
• Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
• Valid Teaching License
• Experience in an urban school preferred
• Bachelor's Degree Required
