What does a casting director do?

A casting director is in charge of hiring talent for film, television, and commercial projects. Their job duties involve reading scripts, collaborating on production, providing notices to talent agents, reviewing actor auditions, selecting the right actors, and otherwise assisting the producers. The career requires extensive experience in the entertainment industry. Many casting directors start in an entry-level role as a casting agent or intern.
