What does a board operator do?

A board operator controls a switchboard, the light, and/or sound systems for a radio station, television station, or a theater production. As the radio board operator in the radio industry, your duties and responsibilities are to control the sound mixing board to ensure that the broadcast has the proper levels, catches the right sound, and provides high-quality audio for the broadcast. Board operators typically work at larger radio stations. At smaller stations, the host of a program may operate the board.
