What do rabbis wear?

Career: Rabbi

What rabbis wear depends on the specific order of Judaism they ascribe to. When not leading synagogue, many rabbis wear normal clothing. Others may wear more traditional garb, especially those who are Hassidic or Orthodox. During services, rabbis often wear special shawls, hats and other garments that are prescribed by the faith. Generally speaking, the Bible requires that Jewish people dress modestly, but are free to wear the clothes that are prevalent in the contemporary situation.
