What do managers do to regulate routine activities?

Managers keep open lines of communication to monitor current activities and assist when employees or projects become unfocused or head in the wrong direction. Communication may include regular meetings, check-in emails, or informal conversations when they cross paths in the office. Managers need to delegate specific job duties so that staff members understand their individual responsibilities. But managers also know that even with numerous policies in place, unexpected problems and events will arise, and a manager must be ready to handle these issues quickly and efficiently to keep them from becoming more extensive problems.
