Remote infection prevention (IP) jobs focus on limiting the spread of disease or illness. Your duties as an infection prevention specialist vary depending on your position. A remote infection preventionist is a medical professional who works from a remote location to research disease patterns, develop a policy to respond to a disease outbreak, define high-risk areas, conduct surveillance and testing to detect an epidemic, and develop strategies to prevent the spread of infections. As a remote IP registered nurse, you perform similar tasks, but you may have more patient care related duties. Some positions require you to work on public outreach and prevention education.
