What is a line striping job?

Line striping jobs involve painting lines on roadways, parking lots, and other facilities, such as airports that require markings on pavement or asphalt. As a line striper, you may use a truck with striping equipment or a walk-behind striping machine. This may depend on the size of the project. You work from a blueprint that has a preset layout, and you measure the lines and symbols to ensure accuracy. As a line striper, your duties also include using stencils to create traffic symbols. Your responsibilities sometimes include operating other equipment, such as a grinder to remove old paint.
