What are different types of geophysicist jobs?

Geophysicists can find jobs in a variety of fields and areas of expertise. Some focus on seismology and study faults and earthquakes. Others help to find new ways to find natural resources and mine them with minimal environmental impact. There are also several specialized subcategories in the field such as marine geophysicists and atmospheric physicists. Some geophysicists pursue teaching at the college level and conduct independent research.
