What is Western Refining?

Western Refining was an independent oil refiner and marketer headquartered in El Paso, Texas. The company specialized in refining, distributing, and marketing petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. In 2017, Western Refining was acquired by Tesoro Corporation (now Andeavor), which was later acquired by Marathon Petroleum. As a result, the Western Refining brand no longer operates independently, but its former operations continue under new ownership as part of a larger energy corporation.
