What is a unit deployment manager?

Unit Deployment Managers (UDMs) are personnel within military units responsible for overseeing and coordinating the deployment readiness of their unit’s members and equipment. They manage all deployment-related activities, including processing deployment orders, maintaining readiness records, ensuring personnel are trained and equipped, and liaising between the unit and higher headquarters.
