What is SkillBridge?

SkillBridge is a Department of Defense (DoD) program that allows active-duty service members to gain civilian work experience through internships, apprenticeships, or fellowships during their last 180 days of service. The program partners with private and public sector organizations to provide training and hands-on experience in various career fields. SkillBridge aims to help service members transition smoothly into the civilian workforce by building relevant skills and professional networks before they leave the military.
