What is an RWI (Reading/Writing Interventionist)?

RWI specialists are educators trained to deliver Reading and Writing Intervention programs, such as Read Write Inc., to support students who struggle with literacy skills. They work with individuals or small groups to improve reading fluency, comprehension, writing, and phonics. Their goal is to help students reach grade-level standards and build confidence in their literacy abilities. RWI specialists use structured, evidence-based methods tailored to each learner's needs.
