What is a religious program specialist?

Religious Program Specialists (RPs) are enlisted members of the U.S. Navy who assist chaplains in supporting the religious needs and spiritual well-being of service members and their families. They help coordinate religious services, manage religious facilities, and provide administrative support for chaplain-led programs. RPs also facilitate the delivery of religious materials and ensure the free exercise of religion for all personnel, regardless of faith group.
