What are Part 135 operators?

Part 135 operators are aviation companies or individuals authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct commercial on-demand and commuter operations. These operations typically include charter flights, air taxi services, and some cargo flights. Part 135 regulations set standards for pilot qualifications, aircraft maintenance, operational procedures, and safety to ensure a higher level of oversight than private (Part 91) operations.
