Is there a demand for flight engineers?

The demand for flight engineers in the aviation industry was relatively limited compared to other aviation professions such as pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians, and air traffic controllers. Flight engineers were historically an essential part of flight crews on older aircraft, primarily those with three or more engines, where they were responsible for monitoring and managing various aircraft systems during flight. However, advancements in aircraft technology have reduced the need for flight engineers on most modern commercial aircraft. Automated systems and advanced avionics have replaced many of the tasks traditionally performed by flight engineers.
