How to get a job in media?

Career: Media

Because media jobs are so varied, there is no single path to getting one. Depending on your field, interest, expertise, and preferred medium, you might need specific technical skills, superb writing ability, business acumen, or a combination of these along with a bevy of other qualities. While not all positions require postsecondary education, most do require experience. Particularly for those interested in journalism, many people begin working in local newspapers or small radio shows and work their way into national publications, and some take paid internships at magazines or publishing houses before graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
