How to become an insurance assistant?

Career: Insurance Assistant

An Insurance Assistant role is often an important step towards a career as an Insurance Agent. The Insurance Assistant position is an entry-level and requires at minimum a high school degree, though many employers prefer candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance. Insurance companies often request one year of previous experience in a professional setting—preferably if it’s within the insurance industry. This is an administrative job, so you’ll be expected to demonstrate excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Phone, fax, and email communication skills are essential. Familiarity with basic computer tools and the ability to quickly learn new software are also important.
