How to become an IC design engineer?

As an internal circuit (IC) design engineer, you are responsible for developing and producing new integrated circuits. Other duties include testing circuits and writing reports to production managers. A career as an internal circuit design engineer requires you have some post-secondary education, generally an associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. Many IC design engineers choose to develop qualifications through voluntary licensure to work with circuits and amplifiers. You may seek further experience through graduate school. Important skills for the job are knowledge of circuitry, math, analytical problem-solving, and experience with AutoCAD and other drafting software.
