How to become an HVAC apprentice?

The primary qualifications to become an HVAC apprentice include the completion of high school (or the equivalent), familiarity with the basics of HVAC systems, and Environmental Protection Agency certification for working with refrigerant chemicals. Some temperature service employers are willing to accept no education or experience as long as you enroll in an HVAC apprenticeship course, while others expect you to have at least one year of training. Fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this position requires being able to work in a variety of indoor, office, and outdoor environments, handling hazardous conditions, traveling to work sites, and standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Helpful skills include the ability to work at extreme heights and familiarity with maintenance record systems.
