How to become a waiter?

Career: Waiter

There are no education requirements for becoming a waiter. Restaurants may not have specific qualifications for hiring waiters, but you could start your restaurant career as a busser (clear tables) or hostess (greet patrons) before moving up to a waiter position. Upscale restaurants prefer experienced waiters who have solid recommendations from previous managers. Each restaurant you work in will provide training when you first start. Be friendly and conscientious to your customers; good service often earns larger tips. Practice memorizing which customer ordered what meal, check on them often to refill drinks or ask about their meals, and clear the plates promptly to make the patron's dining experience memorable and enjoyable.
