To become a Veterinary Receptionist, you will need a high school diploma or GED certificate. You will need computer skills to check in and maintain owner and pet information, and excellent communication skills to talk and gather information. Some employers may prefer that you have a few years of experience in a Receptionist role. It's also important to have a flexible schedule as you may be working a part-time shift. Additional training in grooming, boarding, or other basic care that may be needed for the animals can be taught on-the-job.
