How to become a tank inspector?

There are no formal requirements to become a tank inspector, but you do you need experience either in or out of the classroom. Some choose to pursue an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, petroleum sciences, or a related field. Others obtain apprenticeships to learn from experienced tank inspectors. Many positions require either a license or professional certification. You can seek professional certification, such as the API 653 certificate from the American Petroleum Institute. Such certifications may require previous job experience, but the certifying agency may waive this requirement for degree holders.
